Mushroom Lounge Logo Design

Source: Personal Passion Project

Role: Graphic Designer

Problem to be solved

This passion project revolved around creating a logo for a lounge based in Anchorage, Alaska, where the Iditarod traditionally starts. The idea of it is a place where mushers could relax and spend time with other mushers and also have a space for their dogs to enjoy as well. The aim was to capture a warm and welcoming atmosphere, but in a rustic and down to earth way that appeals to the male-majority target audience.

Research

Since this project had no previous design or brand to build off of, research was done first. This included searching for imagery and graphics that captured the look and feel that I envisioned for the logo. Along with visual research, I also sought to learn more about Anchorage itself, mushing, lounges, sled dogs, and more.

Sketching

Once research had been done, sketches of the logo were made, and through some feedback, three final logo directions were chosen.

Final Project

After some feedback and revisions, and final logo was created. This was then developed into further designs to bring the concept to life.
